If you are like 95% of the populous you probably struggle to tell the difference between a Policy, a Process and a Procedure. Confusion is perpetuated when people around you use these terms interchangeably, and often incorrectly. In this article I share with you my simple method of defining and distinguishing between these three types of documents.
Between them, the Three P’s capture the What, Who, When, Where and How of a business operation, the Rules to abide by and the Standards expected. I use these seven terms to understand what information I should expect to see in each of the three document types.
